A charming home close to Villa Roquette.

A traditional wine –makers house with lots of original features. It has been carefully restored by Rex & Judy Taylor to provide a comfortable family home rather than a rental property.

The décor is eclectic, traditional French furniture combined with other pieces from their various travels. There are also many original paintings and a good library. Alliance is, first and foremost our family home , but we enjoy sharing it with guests on occasion.

The house has generously sized public rooms – kitchen/ dining room and a sitting room with library and TV. From both rooms there are French windows opening on to a large terrace. Access to the walled-garden and the swimming pool is from the terrace. The swimming pool (10m x4m ) is heated and is fitted with a counter-current for strenuous exercise. There is also a table-tennis table and exercise machines.

The self-contained top floor, contains three good-sized bedrooms and a bathroom. The first bedroom has a standard double bed (140cm wide), the second contains an antique French bed (120cm wide) and a single bed and the third and largest of the bedrooms is more like a children’s dormitory, with three single beds and a cot. Overall accommodation is therefore flexible – suitable for independent couples or for a large family, up to a maximum of 8 persons.

Judy is an enthusiastic cook and is happy to provide four course evening meals and Rex has a well-stocked wine cellar. Dining is a moveable feast , either in the garden, on the terrace or in the indoor dining room. Price available on contact, but similar to Villa Roquette. Contact
