Recent work on the Photography Projects

We run regular photography workshops at Villa Roquette here in the Heart of the South of France. The next one is a wet-plate collodion workshop taught by John Brewer on March 12-13 2016. We only have six places, so let me know as quickly as possible if you would like to come – more information is on the Villa Roquette Page.

As well as a mobile wet-plate darkroom for getting into the great local countryside, I have added a portrait studio in our “Maison de Maitre” and you can use this classic full-plate Portrait camera.

My Studio Camera, fitted today with a 30mm Berthiot Flor - I use a 385mm Rodenstock Peztval and a 500mm Taylor Hobson as well with this camera

I have made a special modified to take standard 13×18 plate holders, using a standard Sinar back – I can still fit the original plate holders and all the sliding “carte de visite” apparatus it came with, but focusing and aligning the plates with modern equipment is an advantage.

John’s courses are over a two day weekend – but you can come and stay as long as you wish, before or after the workshops. All guests are free to use my darkroom and studio facilities and I have hundreds of cameras from sub-subminiature up to 24x30cm plate cameras you can use.

There are many other photographic events and workshops through the year – contact me if you would like help or information.
