BB, BandB, B and B, B&B, Chambres d’Hotes, Bed and Breakfast – no matter how you say it or how you spell it, coming to good Bed and Breakfast accommodation is an excellent way to meet people with similar tastes and values and to discover France
At Villa Roquette, our B&B and apartment rental in the heart of Languedoc, we have five rooms we offer as BandB, all have private bathrooms. We have designed our home so we can combine rooms with other salons and kitchens to give five completely independent, fully equipped apartments.
Please look at our prices page for all prices.
Our Bed and Breakfast prices include a Continental Breakfast of orange juice, coffee or tea, croissant, bread, butter and jam. If you would like a more filling start to the day then please request our Continental Platter, 7 euros per head, which also includes cheese, charcuterie, fruit and yoghurt.
For more than two people there is a charge of 15 euro per night per person – no charge for very young children (under two) , we have high chairs and cots, at no extra charge
Carole and I live in the heart of Languedoc, Near Pezenas and Agde, with Montpellier and Beziers airports well under an hours drive (including parking).
Languedoc is a wonderful place to discover France, Pezenas was once the capital city of an area of Provence independent from the rest of France. French life in Languedoc is deeply rooted in traditions going back over two thousand years.
I write about living in France on my blog at http://Twiku.com, many of the questions are from people thinking of moving to France and then offering bed and Breakfast (B&B) accommodation in their homes.
In France a Chambre d’Hote, or if correctly spelt Chambres d’Hôtes, are defined as offering rooms in your own home and supplying breakfast and perhaps an evening meal (Table d’Hote as well as Chambre d’Hote) – you are limited in a Chambre d’Hote to a maximum of five rooms, catering for a maximum of 15 people.
In France, a Bed and Breakfast service must be registered at the local Town Hall and all B&B must be correctly declared and insured.
Our home is a 19th Century Maison de Maitre although some parts are much older. The house is built of solid stone with full modern insulation, so the house is warm in winter and cool in summer, however, we have fitted full central heating and air conditioning as, although winters are never severe, it can be chilly and, although summers are never unbearably hot, it is very pleasant to come home to a cool home after a hot day on the beach or visiting the many ancient street markets Languedoc has to offer.
Offering guest accommodation, whether is it B&B, apartments or even our villa (room for 15 people) is our business. Carole and I have welcomed guests to our home in France ever since Internet browsers were invented, all our marketing is through the Internet – we understand the needs of travelers coming to a bed and breakfast home and we try very hard to give the best value and the highest quality service.
Our prices for BandB are very reasonable, we keep them low by working hard to keep our rental accommodation full – you will find our prices are around half you would expect from a similar (very high) quality home
Discover for yourself the comfort and charm we offer in our home, either as our Bed and Breakfast guest or renting a vacation holiday apartment – no matter how you spell it B&B, BandB, Bed and Breakfast or Chambre d’Hote – the warm welcome we will give to you in Languedoc is the same
