During July and August on Friday evenings, Pezenas has an “Estivale” which I assume is a combination of the words été and “festivale”
At 7:30 in the evening until midnight, the main street is closed tables set out – food and wine is offered and live music. Most shops and all cafes stay open until midnight.
The really good bit is, for only 3 euro you get tickets for two glasses of wine from any of the wine producers offering their produce – that works out at 1.50 a glass and you get to keep the glass as a souvenir – 18 euro gets you 12 glasses of wine, 6 nice glasses to keep plus a bottle of wine of your choice from any of the stalls.
The food is all cooked in the street – brochettes of shellfish – local sausage, cutlets, pies, chocolate and cheeses.
